Where To Start – Wedding Dress Shopping

So it’s finally the time to go wedding dress shopping – How exciting! This task is usually performed up to one year away from the big day and to be honest, can’t come quick enough.

The setting: The day has finally came for you and the bridesmaids to hurdle into the car and head to your  wedding dress shop of choice.  The average woman in Ireland visits up to 3 shops before they say those four beautiful words… No it’s not “I Love You babe”  They shout  out with excitement those words we all long to say “ Yes, To The Dress”.

Before you pounce into the car ask yourself some questions…

Do i know what kind of dress I want? Do you want a portrait neckline or a sweetheart neckline? What style do I want, do i want a mermaid or a trumpet silhouette?

If you don’t know what the hell I am talking about then you need to step outside the car now go back in your home and open up that square thing, no not your make up case.

You need to do some study girl, open up the laptop and get researching!  Wedding dress shopping should be a fun and magical time in your life so let’s ensure it stays that way by knowing what you want.

The wedding dress consultants are there to help but lets face it, no one wants to sound like they don’t have a clue when the consultant is throwing around some fashion terms and you my friend have no idea so you do what all us Irish people have done for years and will continue to do for many more years… We smile and say “yes we think it’s lovely”.

You might think you know it all, sure you have been planning this day since you can remember, right? No, this is not always the case.

Brides to be might be too intimidated on the day and feel shy about asking those very important questions. Don’t fall into this trap and strut into that wedding dress shop like a boss!

Knowledge is power and this is one of the most important days of your life so do your homework.

So when the consultant asks if you like an a line gown, you look her straight in the eyes and be a boss!
