You spend so long thinking of what your little one will look like and you can’t wait to finally meet them for the first time. After all of this your mind may shot to all of the things that you will need for the little ones arrival. This can be overwhelming and can seem like a scary task to tackle.

For that reason we suggest you follow our list below and tick off each item as you go. This newborn baby list will see you through the first few months of your little bundle of joy’s life. In addition to our newborn baby list we suggest that you talk to other mums, their experience can save you lots of time and money as they have been there and can guide you on the do’s and don’ts for your baby’s essentials. 

Things you will definitely need:

1. A cot. You will also need a good mattress and a couple of sheets and safe blankets. I recommend the sleepers that clip over their shoulders, this stops the blanket from covering their face and obstructing their breathing.
2. A Car seat, one that comes in a travel system and fits into your car with the isofix is the safest on the market at the moment.

5. 6 vests
6. 2 jackets 
7. Hat mittens and booties
8. Changing mat
9. Nappies and lots of them in size 1,2 and 3
10. Nursing bra and nursing pads
11. Maternity pads
12. Bottles
13. Steriliser 
14. Bibs and lots of them
15. Muslin clothes for the sick
16. Extra towels
17. Cotton wool pads
18. Hair brush
19. Baby nail clippers 
20. Wipes and baby lotion 

Things that you will find it handy to have:

1. Moses basket, this is handy and will see you good for 6 months on average.
2. Baby bath or baby changing unit with built in bath
3. Baby nappy bag
4. Bouncing chair
5. Baby swing
6. Baby monitor 
7. Breast pump
8. Bath thermometer 

So that’s your complete newborn baby list, there are so much more baby items that you can get but you will find the novelty wears off quick and the costs mount fast. We believe if you stick to our list bone it will make for a happy parent, happy baby and happy wallet!
